THE partner of a man who "vanished without a trace" almost a week ago has spoken of her despair.

Glen Fry, 45, was last seen by his girlfriend of 18 years at their East Riding home and was said to be in good spirits.

Marie Casey said she and his 20-year-old daughter, from a previous relationship, are "distraught".

Detectives have said Mr Fry's disappearance is totally out of character and are especially concerned for his welfare because he is diabetic.

Last Thursday, Miss Casey kissed him goodbye at 6.45am at their house in Ravenspurn Road, Patrington Haven, before leaving for work.

Miss Casey, 35, an office manager, returned at 5.30pm to find the house empty and alerted the police when Mr Fry failed to come home by 11.05pm.

She said: "He is the captain of the local pool team and he had plans to play that evening.

"His wallet and belongings have been left behind.

"It's strange because he often texts or calls me. He is such a kind and caring person."

"We're just so desperate for any information"

Miss Casey said she and Mr Fry, a self-employed builder, were "completely happy".

She said: "We had a meal at my mum and dad's the night before and he was laughing and joking.

"He was on a three-week holiday and doing up the house.

"We were making plans for the future. We booked a holiday two weeks ago to stay in Skye in Scotland.

"We've had no argument, which is why I can't understand this."

Police are particularly keen to trace the couple's silver Jeep Grand Cherokee, with the registration YL51 YLB, which is also missing from their home.

Officers have spent four days searching the Patrington area using a helicopter and mounted units.

Detective Inspector Pete Francis, of Bridlington CID, said: "There are few leads to go on, which is why we are focussing on trying to locate the Jeep.

"It is a distinctive car and we would appeal for anyone who has seen it to come forward.

"It is thought Mr Fry could have travelled north or has possible connections to Strathclyde in Scotland.

"We are also aware that Mr Fry was working with flood victims and if anyone has had any recent business dealings with Mr Fry, please come forward."

Mr Fry is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, of slim build and a shaven head. He was last seen wearing a blue fleece, blue jeans and brown trainers.

Mr Fry or anyone with information about his whereabouts should call Humberside Police on 0845 6060222.
