The king of comedy to be crowned
The region's best rising comic will be named next week at The Hull Comedy Festival New Comedian of the Year Awards.
The event, which will be held at Fruit on Sunday, November 10, as the finale to four weeks of mirth in the city, will feature seven young stand-ups competing for the title.

Taking part will be Skegness funnyman Jason Arthur, droll stand-up Peter Brush, the frenetically funny Hayley Ellis, wry and witty Kaye Fox, Midlands mirth-maker Carl Jones, former professional wrestler Lee Kyle and Nick Cranston, who will be compering the night.
The winner will be chosen by popular acclaim on the night.
