Beverley girl to star with Johnny Depp
Eleanor Tomlinson already has already tasted stardom having recently appeared in teen comedy Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging, shot by Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha.
Now Eleanor, 16, is in Plymouth shooting her role in Tim Burton's adaptation of Alice In Wonderland, which will feature a mix of live action as well as computer generated images.
She is playing Alice's peer, the spiteful Fiona Chataway, who appears at the beginning of the film before Alice falls down the rabbit hole.
Speaking to the Mail from the set, Eleanor said she was delighted to have landed a part in the film.
She said: "I think it's amazing. I can't get over it.
"Everyone has been so nice to me on set.
"It's a small part, but it's well worth it. It's brilliant.
"Unfortunately, Johnny Depp is filming the animation scenes in the US so I won't meet him on set.
"But, hopefully, I'll get the chance during the premier.
"I'll be thrilled when I meet him, but also probably a little star-struck.
"I just have to act normal. Everyone says he is a really lovely guy."
Eleanor began filming Alice In Wonderland last week and will be in Plymouth for three weeks in total. She expects to remain in Beverley for some time after that.
She said: "I don't have much else in the pipeline right now. I will go back to school and return to my normal life.
"Hopefully, something else will come along on the back of this.
"I hope there will be a sequel to Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging as I had so much fun and there are some really good ideas.
"But I would also like to do some other projects."
