FC star's Australian girlfriend arrested in dramatic raid on beauty salon + video
Six immigration officers wearing bulletproof vests, accompanied by two police officers, swooped on Pinkies Nail and Beauty Clinic in Anlaby and arrested CJ Wilson.
The 31-year-old Australian began working at the Wilson Street salon as a beauty therapist earlier this year after flying to the UK to be with the Airlie Birds' hooker.
Officers searched all three downstairs rooms at the salon while startled customers were having treatment, before going upstairs to raid a treatment room.
The Mail understands she was arrested because her visa to remain in the country had run out and she did not have the appropriate papers to work in this country.
Miss Wilson narrowly avoided instant deportation after proving to officials she has already booked her flight to return home after tomorrow's derby match with Hull KR.
She will spend the close season in Australia with Mr Berrigan and had planned to return to Hull together next year in time for the new season.
Today, the owner of Pinkies, Claire Humphrey, 28, who could be fined for employing a migrant worker, said Miss Wilson wanted a job because she was lonely.
She said: "CJ approached me, told me she was bored at home and had come all the way from Australia.
"She didn't know anyone and wanted to meet people.
"She was not on the payroll, she just enjoyed socialising and getting beauty treatments done in exchange for her time.
"I didn't know she needed a visa to work voluntarily."
Thursday's raid came exactly a week after Miss Wilson posed with two other Hull FC Wags for photographs for the Mail to promote the black and white nails they were painting for fans heading to Wembley for the Challenge Cup final last weekend.
Miss Wilson did not wish to comment.
