Ghost experts' anger at iPhone prank

Paranormal investigators have condemned a prank image of a ghost taken at an East Riding school.

The Mail passed on a photograph of a "ghost" to the Hull Paranormal Ghost Society last month.

The snap was sent in by John Fores who was employed by Stoneledge to carry out demolition work at Anlaby Primary School in First Lane.

It shows what appears to be a small boy on the old site of the boy's toilet block at the school.

Although Mr Fores was adamant the photograph was not a fake, it has since been revealed that one of his colleagues must have played a prank on him.

Rob Taylor, president and founder of the Hull Paranormal Ghost Society, said: "After being asked to conclude the image, our results conclude that the image is fake.

"The boy image can be used in an Apple i-Phone application called "Ghost Capture", recently released, letting people make their own ghostly pictures."

Mr Taylor is concerned applications like this could cause problems to the society, which takes pride as paranormal investigators to bring evidence and documentation of any paranormal activity.

Mr Taylor said: "We ask with respect for people to try and understand the seriousness and time consumption relating to paranormal investigation work."

The Mail approached photographer Mr Fores about the picture.

He believes he might have been set up by a colleague.

Mr Fores said: "I am annoyed. During the demolition work there were a few of us swapping pictures of the site as we were putting together a portfolio of the work.

"One of them must have blue-toothed me that image, which I didn't notice until they were up on the computer. I thought it was genuine."
