Motorcyclist dies after Willerby crash

A man has died after a motorcycle crash on a notoriously dangerous East Riding road.

The man, believed to be in his 40s, was riding along Great Gutter Lane in Willerby and died in hospital after the smash at lunchtime yesterday.

Driving a Lambretta scooter towards Cottingham, the man is believed to have been turning left into a side road before being struck by a car turning right into the same road.

Humberside Police have appealed for any witnesses to come forward after the crash at 12.45pm.
