Paint the town black and amber!

Friday, May 16, 2008, 07:00

TODAY the Mail is urging Hull City fans to show their true colours and paint the region black and amber.

We want supporters throughout Hull and the East Riding to show the Tigers just how proud they are of the march to Wembley.

We are asking fans to decorate their houses, gardens, places of work, cars and anything else they want with all things black and amber to highlight the level of support ahead of the club's date with destiny at Wembley..

Businesses should also get on board by decking out their premises with all things Hull City, allowing employees to turn up in Tigers strips.

Those who make a big effort will be featured in the Mail and on thisishull.co.uk

A panel of judges will decide on the best and the winner will be presented with the Mail's Black and Amber Cup.

John Meehan, editor of the Mail, said: “Hull City's bid for promotion to Premier League for the first time in the club's history has captured the imagination of the whole region and reaching Wembley is a fantastic achievement.

“The club is making history and everyone should make the most of this special time.”

Young Tigers at Gillshill Primary School in Cavendish Road, east Hull, have already set the ball rolling.

Pupils were allowed to wear their City strips to school to celebrate the Tigers victory over Watford at the KC Stadium on Wednesday, which booked their place in the play-off final on Saturday, May 24.

Pupils and staff also decorated their classrooms with City flags and banners.
