Sunday, November 29, 2009, 09:50

About 200 tonnes of straw went up in flames after a fire broke out at a Dutch barn in Kilnwick Percy, near Pocklington.

Fire crews from the town were called to the scene at 9.11pm yesterday.

They used two main lines and a ground monitor to tackle the blaze, which had taken hold of the six-bay barn and mechanical equipment.

The fire is being investigated by police.
