BAGGY clothes, feeling fitter and an improved healthier lifestyle.

These are just some of the side effects of joining the Mail Slimmers website.

Hundreds of men and women have signed up to the online community to lose weight from the comfort of their own homes.

Among them are our five Slimming Champions, who all volunteered to put their own weight loss in the spotlight – and they are already dropping clothes sizes.

Each has now attended their fourth of 13 weekly weigh-ins and between them have already lost more than three stone.

This week it was Steve Holmes, who is following the Family Friendly plan, who managed to lose the most weight.

He recently began exercising in the gym and lost 4lbs.

He said: "I was determined to lose weight this week after putting weight on last week.

"I started the gym on Monday, so that is helping.

"Next week I hope it will be down more."

Wendy Drury, 49 of east Hull, who is following the My Way plan, lost 2Ibs – the same amount she has lost every week – bringing her total weight loss so far to 8Ibs.

She said: "I've been quite consistent losing 2Ibs each week and that was my plan.

"I feel a lot happier with myself. I've gone down a size in trousers, so I'm really pleased."

Marcia Vannucci, 54, of west Hull, lost 1Ib.

She said: "We all want to lose more, but as long as I lose a little bit each week, I'm pleased.

"Until I looked back and saw myself in the paper I didn't realise how fat I was looking.

"I was thinking I was thin when I wasn't, so this is really doing me good."

Lyn Kenny, 51 of Beverley, who lost 10Ibs in the first week, stayed the same this week.

She said: "This is the second consecutive week I've stayed the same.

"I should be disappointed, but I'm not. I've dropped a dress size, which is what it's all about for me, not what it says on the scales.

"A friend of mine who is a personal trainer said this was likely to happen as I will put muscle weight on.

"So I'm not deterred, I'm sticking to my 1500 calories a day.

"Also, I'm doing a lot more exercise, I'm walking my dog every day, doing two pilates classes and a keep-fit class."

This week, Claire Walker, 26 of Beverley put 1Ib on, but she knows the reason why.

She said: "I've put 1lb on, which I'm not too displeased about because I did expect to either put some on or stay the same.

"I've had another stressful week.

"I've had a lot on and have not been eating a lot during the day, then eating a lot on the night.

"But next week I'm going to try to get some exercise and I'm going to get back on track."
