Tenerife murder: Family 'devastated'

Tuesday, February 09, 2010, 17:25

The devastated son-in-law of an East Yorkshire businessman killed in Tenerife has spoken of the family's grief.

Reports suggest the 71-year-old company director was the victim of a robbery at his villa on the holiday island.

His body was found in a pool of blood on Monday.

The son-in-law, who did not give his name, was speaking at the home of Peter and wife Patricia in Brandesburton.

He said: "We are all shocked, absolutely devastated. This is still raw. She [Patricia] is devastated. She's gone into town to sort out the banking.

"We know as much as you do. We have heard there may have been a break-in at Peter's apartment.

"We have also heard there may be some involvement with Eastern Europeans, we know there are lots of them about round there, but beyond that we know as much as you."
