The perfect place for an international student to study
FIVE years ago, with a dream of studying in the UK, I flew half the world from China to the UK.
I chose the University of Hull because it suited my study interests and because it has a good reputation.
As an international student who was leaving home for the first time, I experienced a range of feelings, from excitement to loneliness and homesickness.
Fortunately, I need not have had those worries because I was welcomed, supported and encouraged by the staff and students at the university.

If you are reading on the top floor of Brynmor Jones Library, you can enjoy learning from a book but also have opportunity to enjoy a bird's eye view of the city outside the window.
The staff in the Study Advice Centre are always happy to provide academic support to students.
As an international student, I obtain valuable support from the centre, which has helped me adapt to the UK education system.
The university's friendly environment and excellent academic atmosphere have made me want to stay here to study for my Master and PhD courses.
I particularly enjoy the fabulous student life in Hull. This beautiful city is peaceful, harmonious and convenient for the university.
The opportunity to study with students from a diverse background is invigorating.
The Students' Union is a big student family, the numerous student societies help me find many international friends who have the same interests.
I not only have the chance to enjoy British culture but can also understand more about international cultures within this big family.
A series of supportive services, such as the Careers Service, Student Advice Centre and shops in the Student Union building establish another home for our international students.
I like this friendly university, I like beautiful Hull.
The more I become involved in the Hull community, the more I love it.
