The best I have found

“ I have taken my dogs here for 2 years and it is excellent. My mother used to own a kennels and she had incredibly high standards of cleanliness and care. HFH matches those. The dogs come home happy, well fed and washed. They are happy for you to go and collect the dogs directly from their pens- a tell tale sign that they are comfortable with the state of the facilities. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. I could not recommend it any more highly. Yours, Discerning dog owner ”

Pet Care

We understand it can be a concern leaving your pets in someone else's care for the first time. All pets who come from a safe and secure family home require the same level of care when being left with someone new. This is why we work hard every day to ensure your pets have the best care and attention here at our family run business. Working to the highest standards we believe we offer the best pet care services in Hull. After opening in 1993, we have built up an enormous amount of experience and knowledge.

Pet Grooming

Since 1993 we've provided bathing and grooming to customers throughout the region in our fully equipped professional dog grooming salon. Pampering your dog is our aim, ensuring your dog has the very best grooming experience. The grooming salon is equipped with a walk in bath especially design with the intention of providing a less stressful experience for dogs who may be infirm, elderly or of a larger stature. All dogs are dried using a hand dryer, and not a cage dryer as these can sometimes cause distress. We also source the very best shampoos, fragrances and equipment to ensure your dog has the very best of what a grooming parlour can provide.

Dog Training

Using the latest techniques, our focus is on building a successful and trusting relationship between you and your pet. Our qualified animal behaviourist and dog training instructors have the knowledge and experience to help you create a happy and well balanced companion. Our range of dog training and handling services include Obedience and Behavioural Assessments, Obedience Classes, Puppy Play Groups, Agility Classes, Residential Training Packages and Dog Chaperon for Photography at your wedding.

Pet Supplies

We have everything you need to keep your pet happy, from pet food and dog training accessories to wild bird feed and aquariums. Our trained and experienced team are also on hand to help find exactly what you are looking for.

A wonderful, thriving, and caring local family business

“Home from Home in Swanland have been looking after our dogs on a regular basis since 2001, and we are always happy with their service. We've also just started buying our pet food there as the prices are really reasonable. Over the years we've got to know the family and their wonderful team, and they all know our dogs and their needs inside out! Furthermore, our loyalty to them is rewarded, because if we forget to book and contact them at the last minute, they always move heaven and earth to try to accommodate us somehow!”

“I have been taking Tak to the Home from Home kennels for the last two years. The staff have gone beyond their duty of care to change him from a destructive & unhappy dog to a more settled and happier dog. I don't know what I would have done without them - Thanks!”

FC Mercenary you could not be further from the truth!!!!

“I don't know what this person/persons is basing their opinion on, because I would very much like to know, as I'm sure, the rest of HFH customers will be, because as far as I am aware this place is an absolute haven, and I literally put my money where my mouth is, and before you start "fc mercenary," for the level of care towards both me, my animal, other customers and their animals I would, and did expect to be charged more.
This so called review is obviously an attack from a competitor because a true disgruntled customer would A) had the guts to first escalate the problem to the business, instead of keeping silent and being a repeated source of income, B) withdrawn "their poor animal from such outrageous conditions" immediately and C) had the guts to specify exactly what had gone on so it could be addressed properly and put their name to it, so as to be proud as the person who blew the whistle on "this horrendous establishment!"
Because "fc mercenary" if I genuinely felt like this about somewhere I had entrusted the care of my animal I would have done all of the above and made sure the place knew who I was!!!
But seen as you have not, and have no examples or specific cases to back up your claims I can only assume you are talking what most of us responsible, genuine animal lovers pick up in their doggie bags!!”

Rosie's retreat

“If you looking for a doggy hotel please look no further than Home from Home Pet Care Ltd in Swanland. We would consider ourselves quite fussy when it came to finding the right place to leave our baby and this place fitted the bill exactly.

From walking through the door for a look around to leaving again we felt completely relaxed that we had found just the right place.

We have a one year old Yorkshire Terrier who was about to experience her first time away from home. We naturally worried how she would react but we needn't have bothered. After her week long stay we collected a very happy, energetic beauty who didnt seem at all fazed that she had been away.

Two types of kennels are offered (a heated indoor type and a heated external type) both priced at £13.90 (we had 50p taken off our daily bill as we provided Rosie's own food) In with this price two daily walks are included (more than she gets at home)

Also offered are daily playgroups priced at £3 per fifteen minute session. I would highly recommend these. At the end of the week a little video is put together showing the dogs interacting with each other and the staff. Its really lovely to see that whilst your missing your baby like mad they couldnt care less because their having so much fun!!!

We also had Rosie bathed, groomed and pampered just before we collected her. We were delighted with the result and the little pink bow in her hair... We looked and smelled beautiful all for the price of £17.50 (although she is tiny so check the price directly with the groomers)

All in all we were very satisfied and have in fact all ready booked her in again for later in the year for a two week stay when we hope to go away again.

Keep up the good work, you all do a fab job and we think your great, Rosie included. Xx”
