Fans to flock to KC for match

07:00 - 01-May-2008

HULL City fans are gearing up for the biggest day in the club's history on Sunday with many heading to the KC Stadium to share the moment.

Only 2,100 lucky Tigers fans will be able to witness the nail-biting game against Ipswich at Portman Road.

So City officials have opened the turnstiles at the KC to allow other fans to share the stadium atmosphere and watch the game on a big screen.

Debbie Kelsey from west Hull is hoping to go along with her eight-year-old son Adam and her father Arthur Walton, 74.

She said: “It will be a fantastic milestone and the KC is the best place to be for it.”

If results go their way, the Tigers could be automatically promoted to the Premier League.

Commercial director Andy Dawson said: “We would encourage people to come along.

“Although many will watch the game at home or in the pub, I'd expect a couple of thousand.”

Brendon Smurthwaite, Hull City press officer, added: “Doors open at 1pm and obviously we'd like as many supporters as possible inside the KC Stadium on Sunday to create a great atmosphere for what could be a truly memorable day in the history of the club.”

The game will be shown on the 44sqm television screen that was installed earlier this year.

The match kicks off at 2pm and Hull City fans should simply turn-up at the KC Stadium turnstiles on the day.
