First runners cross the line in Hull Marathon

BRIDLINGTON runner Phil Taylor was the first to cross the finishing line in today's Hull Marathon.

He said: "This is my 13th marathon - unlucky for some but not for me."

Phil, 32, is also takling the London Marathon in a few weeks' time.

"I was really relieved to cross the finishing line and, although there are a few things to iron out, Hull's first marathon has been great," he said.

    Confusion arose after trying to figure out whether the start/finish line was the first or last checkpoint where they saw the first pair of shoes.”
