One the country’s most popular female stand-up comedians, Jo Caulfield, will be entertaining an audience at Junction in Goole this Saturday.
In her latest show, Better The Devil You Know, Jo ponders the question: “If you could make all your big life choices again, would you do the same things?” Of course, there will be plenty of other humourous observations from stories about dating, relationships and bad service to anecdotes about wrestling with a self-scanner in Tesco and humiliating herself in public.

Stand-up star Alun Cochrane heads to Fruit in Hull with his new show, Moments of Alun, in which he extracts an array of comical observations from day-to-day life whether it’s visiting the DIY store or walking the dog.
With a mammoth house move, an energetic four year old son and a pet whippet having dominated his life over the past year, he’ll have plenty of funny moments to choose from.

The Royal British Legion is hosting its annual rally weekend on the coast.
The Bridlington Weekend Rally is taking place from Friday to Sunday at The Spa Bridlington.
On Friday from 7.30pm, there will be a cabaret band. On Saturday from 7.15pm, there will be a performance from Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai Band and The Bombshell Belles followed by dancing from Opus One.
On Sunday, there will be a service at Priory Church at 12.30pm followed by a march through the town back to the Spa Royal Hotel.

Following on from last year’s success, Theatre Brothel returns this week, with a series of plays staged in Hull Truck’s ‘unseen spaces’.
Last year’s production saw performances taking place in areas including the green room and backstage areas.
Theatre Brothel 2.0 will see a series of six plays being staged. These include Joe Hakim’s Blackout – a post-apocalyptic comedy drama – which will be performed in the theatre’s basement.
Visitors to the event can select two plays to watch on any given night.

The Game & Country Fair at the Driffield Showground this weekend promises a fun-filled traditional day out for the whole family.
Competitions will be taking place throughout the weekend including have-a-go clay pigeon, dog scurrying, casting and a fun dog show alongside a huge selection of game and country stalls and a craft fair.

The Duck’s Bill Drama Festival returns to Cottingham for a whole weekend of shows performed in the Duke of Cumberland pub.
Among the writers whose work will feature at the festival are Dave Windass and Ian Winter.

The classic tale of Peter & The Wolf is brought to life in a family-friendly puppet show at Junction in Goole this Saturday.

Inception’s Joseph Gordon-Levitt returns the the mind-bending science-fiction genre in Looper which is new in cinemas this week.
Here he plays an assassin for a mafia company who is employed to kill and dispose of agents sent to him from the future. However, complications arise when he recognises his latest target is his future self (Bruce Willis).
