"We've both thoroughly enjoyed it but we've got family commitments and things going on in our personal lives and we can't give the time needed to the business anymore.
"We're down to three days a week but a restaurant in Princes Avenue needs to be open six or seven days.
"Hopefully, whoever takes it on will keep up the standards we have brought to the restaurant."
The two friends opened the restaurant in December 2009
Alison had been running an eatery in Princes Quay, which closed when the cinema complex was built.
Dean had always dreamed of running his own restaurant.
The duo have led the restaurant to success and say they are incredibly proud of the reputation it has built.
Alison, 47, who is also head chef, said: "My son Elliot is 13 now and has lots of rugby training and matches. We travel all over taking him places.
"If I don't stop now, he will be 18 and I will have missed those previous teenage years with him. I've always run my own business and juggled family life and work but I don't want to juggle anymore."
Alison says she will be sorry to see the business go, and hopes whoever buys it will run a similar restaurant.
She said: "I'll be very sorry to let it go. It is a very popular restaurant.
"I'm very proud of what we achieved and we both put a lot of hard work into it. I trawled the internet for recipes and ideas.
"I hope whoever buys it will carry it on as it is. It is successful now, so why change it?"
The business can be bought as a whole, or separately as a company and building.

“Trip Advisor is misleading. For many months, Port Side was the no. 1 restaurant in Hull. Even the owner questioned why they were rated the best in the city.”

“It's only ranked number one because it has the most reviews. It doesn't actually have the highest average grading.”

“Massive potential for the right buyer. Open 6/7 days offer weekend breakfasts. Great location, nearer the available parking, tidy little venue. Decent existing reputation.”
