Never-say-die spirit shines through
HULL turned an 18-9 deficit into a 29-18 victory in the final 20 minutes to defeat Luctonians.
Hull started the game brightly enough and it took just five minutes before James Cameron struck with his first of three first-half penalties.
Holland was credited with Luctonians' first try, but Cameron's third penalty for a high tackle saw Hull 9-5 ahead and Luctonians' Smith yellow carded.
The half drew to its close with a fine penalty by Burton for the home side and a yellow card awarded to Hull's Phil Murphy.
Two unconverted tries from Meredith and Holland for the hosts, and a yellow card for Hull's Matt Rhodes, then looked to have decided the game at 18-9 to the hosts.
But when Hull were restored to their full complement of players, the momentum of the game changed completely.
After 64 minutes, a catch and drive saw Hull's Cook credited with a try and although this was not converted, Cameron put Hull within a point of the home side after 69 minutes with a penalty goal.
Dorrington then drove over before a catch and drive resulted in Cook bagging another score, Cameron adding the touchline conversion.
