THE award for Remarkable Pub at the Reytas was sponsored by Mail News & Media, publisher of the Mail.
It was won by The Goodmanham Arms, which judges said was "genuinely committed to supporting local produce, providing excellent quality home-cooked food and an extensive range of great real ales".
Landlord Vito Logozzi said: "We were surprised to get to the final and even more so to win.
"People have started to recognise what our pub is all about.

The pub, near Market Weighton, has regular family-friendly ale festivals.
Mr Logozzi said: "We get the latest ales in.
"In the first week of May we will have a big beer festival and country music.
"The secret is making everybody welcome and Goodmanham is also in a beautiful Wolds setting."
