Daniel is amazing, says Jamie
13:02 - 23-June-2008
"He's an amazing actor," says Jamie, 22. "He's done so much and has now taken on James Bond - this massive thing - but he still has this ability to listen to you and take everything in. He's an incredibly warm person."
Jamie, whose latest film Jumper, is out now on DVD, says much of what he learns on movie sets nowadays is by simply observing great stars at work.
"You expect these actors to dole out masses of advice but actually it's just observing them on set and how they carry themselves with such respect for their crew and their directors," he says. "Part of it is actually to listen. Their greatness comes with understanding and communicating with their directors."
Defiance - due out later this year - follows three Jewish brothers during World War II.
"It's a true story of these brothers in Russia when it was occupied by the German forces," explains Jamie. "They basically decided to say no to being sent off to ghettos to be murdered. They became partisans and ended up saving 12,000 people from surrounding ghettos. It's a holocaust story but it's not about them going silently. It's a vengeful movie and it is very dark and brutal."
