Maddox, who was born in Cambodia, has apparently been helping Angelina learn French while the family have been living in Aix-en-Provence in France, the Daily Mirror reports.
The Tomb Raider star, who is due to give birth to twins with partner Brad Pitt in the next few weeks, reportedly said: "We're all trying to master French at the moment, which has become quite funny.
"Maddox is doing the best - he corrects me all the time.
"Hopefully one day we'll all speak English and French and the children will speak the languages of their lands too. That's the plan."
Angelina is currently appearing in Wanted alongside James McAvoy, and provides the voice of a tigress in Dreamworks' animated movie Kung Fu Panda, with Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman.
