Sex And The City: The Movie sequel?

Monday, July 14, 2008, 09:31

Don't put away your Manolos just yet. If reports in the US are to believed, there could be a sequel to the Sex And The City film.

HBO have said that they are interested in making a follow-up to the successful movie which starred the sassy foursome - Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall - and captivated audiences.

"Everybody came away feeling very excited by [the first film's] quality and its success, so that always invites the possibility of a continuation," HBO co-president Richard Plepler told People.com on Thursday after the network's session at the Television Critics Association's press tour.

"It's really up to [director] Michael Patrick [King] and Sarah Jessica Parker and the rest of the girls. But do I think at some point in the next four to five years there's a likely possibility? Yeah, I think there's a likely possibility."

Michael Lombardo, head of HBO programming, told OK!: "There is enormous interest by Warner Brothers New Line to do another Sex And The City, and I think, in fact, they're trying with our help to put that together now.

"When that happens, how long it will be, I can't say. I think everybody associated with that project was really heartened by, the enthusiasm from the fans of the show."
