Wolves have submitted an improved bid of £4m for the City winger and are willing to pursue the player until the closure of the transfer window on Monday.
But Brown is adamant the player is going nowhere – and says that could see the club tie the player to an improved deal.
Hunt only signed a four-year deal with City in the summer, but Brown said: "He’s played his part this season and there is firm interest from Wolves.
"I spoke to Steve this morning and began preliminary talks regarding a new contract.
"We want him to remain here and we can all push on from there."
