Came up through the ranks at Craven Park and scored on his National League debut in the 36-10 defeat at Leigh in August 2006. He followed that up with a try in his Super League debut in the 40-24 defeat to Wigan Warriors near the end of the 2007 season at Craven Park. Rovers have uncovered a star of the future in Welham who has grown in stature with every game he plays. Will push Jake Webster and Chev Walker for a place in the team next season and was named the club's young player of the year in 2008. Selected ahead of Jake Webster for the start of the 2009 season after an impressive pre season.
