PROFILE:

Described as Rovers’ biggest signing in almost two decades when he signed ahead of the 2007 season. With 10 State of Origin and 5 Tests under his belt, his experience helped keep Rovers in Super League. Defences found it very difficult to stop him and he was named club player of the year at the end of the 2007 season. In 2008, he continued to lead by example and was a serious contender for Man of Steel. A switch from second row to prop helped him cross the line more frequently and he finished 2008 with a record nine tries. The 2009 season started badly for the skipper, who picked up a knee ligament injury in the 13-13 draw at Bradford, ruling him out for between 4 and 6 weeks.
