Newton fails in bid to join the World Cup carnival for Scotland

 HULL KR second row Clint Newton will have to watch the World Cup at home as his attempts to qualify for three different countries have been blocked by the governing body.

Newton hoped he could join Ben Fisher in the Scotland side, but players cannot qualify through great grandparents.

The news comes as a blow to Newton who could have also have played for England, Australia and America.
