My tummy pain was a baby boy!
A YOUNG mum has revealed how she went to hospital with stomach pain – and gave birth 40 minutes later.
Kimberley Robinson, 22, of Marlborough Avenue, west Hull, began having severe stomach pains at 6.30am.
She told the Mail how she went to accident and emergency at Hull Royal Infirmary at 10am and gave birth at 10.40am.
She said the arrival of Mackenzie, who weighed 7lbs 14oz, was a "total shock".
"I was still having normal periods, had not gained that much weight and had none of the other signs, like morning sickness," she said.
"I just started having bad stomach cramps, so I went to the hospital when I couldn't take it any more.
"I thought I had appendicitis. I had no idea I was pregnant until my waters broke and I could feel his head. He arrived about five minutes later."
Mackenzie, now five weeks old, was born completely healthy.
Kimberley, who is no longer in a relationship with the father, said: "I was in total shock. It took about two weeks for it to sink in. Because I had no idea I was pregnant, I didn't have any clothes for him or things such as prams and car seats.
"All my friends were really nice, though, and got things sorted out for me."
Kimberley, who was working at the King William IV pub and the KC Stadium until she gave birth, said she is "loving" being a mum.
She has now entered her "little miracle" into the Mail's Baby And Toddler Of The Year competition.
"I am loving every minute of it," she said.
"Everyone has said he is a little miracle, and he really is.
"I hope he does win the competition because I think he is gorgeous and he has a really special story behind him."
Kimberley's mum Mandie Robinson said: "I was in complete shock when she told me she had given birth, but I fell in love with him immediately."
