Nine-turbine Roos Wind Farm set for 2013 start
A nine-turbine wind farm near a Holderness village is expected to be up and running early next year.
Renewable energy developer RES has announced a financing deal for its Roos Wind Farm.
The 17mw project will use nine Vestas wind turbines due to be delivered in the autumn and the project is expected to be fully commissioned by next spring.
The development was given planning permission on appeal in 2010 after originally being rejected by East Riding Council.
It will provide green electricity equivalent to the needs of approximately 14,000 homes.
Gordon MacDougall, RES UK and Ireland chief operating officer, said: "Roos Wind Farm meets our pressing need of maintaining our energy security by using a homegrown renewable source.
"We look forward to bringing Roos into RES's growing portfolio of operational wind farms."

“Are you disillusioned by our dependence on short-term, polluting fossil fuels, the destuction of our environment and being held to ransom on fuel prices by middle-eastern oil cartels? If so, ignore the previous post”

“Are you disillusioned by rising electricity prices, over dependence on the "green" dream [especially uneconomical and inefficient wind farms] and the destruction of our countryside then please register your objection to the Government by GOOGLING "E-PETITION 22958" and following the link.”
