We're united by our belief in city
AS THE Mail and its partners reflect on the success of the Bounce Back campaign of last year, we now look ahead to how the 2010 campaign can continue to build on this success.
By working together, Bounce Back has enabled businesses and organisations, of both the public and private sector, to join forces and channel their efforts into celebrating what Hull and the East Riding have to offer.

THE WORLD IS OUR OYSTER: The Deep is behind the Mail's campaign and wants to showcase the city's success stories.
At the same time, we have encouraged our readers to love local products and support the East Yorkshire economy, by supporting local businesses.
Richard Duxbury, deputy managing director of Mail News & Media, said: "The campaign has also been successful in highlighting some of the great work taking place behind the scenes, in both the public and the private sector.
"This is work that is helping the region on the road to recovery, as well as strengthening Hull and the East Riding as a place where people want to visit, shop, eat and enjoy themselves."
So far, 11 partners have joined this year's campaign to help the region Bounce Back from the recession.
NHS Hull, East Riding College, Hull City Council, Visit Hull And East Yorkshire, Citycare, Gateway and Kingston Communications are partners from the last campaign that have chosen to continue their support this year.
There are also a number of new partners including BAE Systems.
Other partners being welcomed into the Bounce Back fold, include The Deep and the Yorkshire Bed Company.

“very good point about the hull daily mail itself, moving its printing out the city,i think hull is struggling big time,to other citys, there was an article about manor proporties which is run by phil akrill who built the bbc building,it mentioned new developments in leeds and manchester, but nothing about hull ,manor own the old co-op building where there is still no sign of work after 3 years, and the have the old rank hovis site on the east bank, again still no sign of demolition, other schemes like the boom, trinity quays next to myton bridge and the fruit market area stand still, hull forward and yorkshire forward do very little for hull, john holmes of hull forward sounds a very nice guy,but his achievements for redevelopment are poor, basically 2 new buildings on the marina, our local m,p,s have let this city down years, people of hull wake up its time to vote these labour m,p,s out, this is one of the uk,s largest ports, where underachieving big time, even the local councillors are finding it difficult to find invesment from outside companys to relocate in the hull area,i recently returned to the country, caught the train back to hull on new years eve, arrived at paragon station at 10pm,everything was closed down, even the bus station,it was like a ghost town, unreal ,this was new years eve,HULL BOUNCING BACK,you must be kidding, never seen so many empty shops, abolishing the humber bridge toll, would be a good start.”

“Can I suggest a couple of ideas for Hull's BID consortium to consider to help boost the potential success of BounceBack?
In most other UK cities transport infrastructure seems to be a high priority.
Following on from the successful schemes introduced in Stockport, Bolton, Huddersfield and Wakefield, not to mention Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool, has any thought been given to the introduction of a Metroshuttle Free City Bus to connect the Interchange with the KC Stadium and The Deep? A second route could run via the Marina to remove the need for people to cross Castle Street (at least until the improvements for pedestrians are completed).
A First Class Lounge at Hull Paragon would also be useful. Wakefield, Doncaster, Runcorn, Crewe and Stoke on Trent all have Lounges as well as larger stations including Lime Street. First Class Lounges are a standard expectation in today's modern Business world. if Hull is to realistically compete with L**ds, Manchester and others then this must be a serious consideration. There must be sufficent traffic from Hull to justify this given the number of trains now that convey 1st Class accommodation. I always use 1st Class on Transpennine Express so I would definitely use the Lounge.”

“It would be nice to be given some hard evidence of what this "campaign" has actually achieved, instead of the usual "working together" waffle.”

“Will the Mail be relocating its printing works to the city to give this campaign a bit of credibility?”
